At Smith Farms, we grow all of the produce, that we sell. All of our produce is field-grown; therefore, many crops start to flourish when we have longer days of sunlight and warmer nights. The peak of our harvest happens in July and August but we plant a variety of crops throughout the growing season, in order to offer you fresh options to choose from between May and November. You can use the following list of seasonal crops as a guideline to know what you can expect to find at Smith Farms during our growing season.
Our farm-fresh produce is available, direct from our farm, at our certified roadside farm stand. To find other local NC produce in your area, search Certified Roadside Farm Markets: North Carolina Farm Fresh.
Smith Farms opens to the public each April and stays open until mid November. Our farm stand is open Monday – Saturday (closed on Sundays). Typical crops include: strawberries, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, collards, kale, onions, potatoes, squash, zucchini, English peas, blueberries, cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes, green beans, corn, cantaloupe, watermelon, eggplant, field peas, lima beans, butter peas, October beans and sweet potatoes.
